Breed: Caucasian Shepherd (Ovtcharka)

Sex: Male

Age: 4-5 years approx

Size: Very Large

Colour: Black

Coat: Long-haired

Vaccinations: Ask in office

House Trained: Partly

Obedience: Lived outside

Children: OK with older children

Other Dogs: OK with meeting dogs outside but does not want to live with a dog - see Notes

Cats: Not met cats

Chewing: Will chew leads and collars

Lead: Walks well but if he is spooked or wants to go somewhere he is strong on the lead

Off Lead: Will run away

Travelling: OK in cars but does not like being left alone in the car

Microchipped: Yes

Notes: Rousse is wary of people he does not know but is not aggressive. He is affectionate once he knows you. He will lean against you for security. Groups of people and noisy children frighten him and he will pull in another direction to avoid them. We were told he is not good with dogs but he has not had a problem with any dogs he has met. He has been OK with the calm neutered male dogs in the foster home but after 24 hours has shown signs of dominance when the other dogs make a noise or receive attention so I would not trust him to be left unsupervised with dogs smaller than him. Will steal food from work tops, from your plate and out of your hand. Needs a home with someone who knows how to control a dog of this size. Please read the breed information via the link below.
